Zoo Day!

On St. Patty's Day instead of celebrating the luck of the Irish by wearing green and drinking green beverages, we packed up and headed to the Fort Worth Zoo. We arrived around noon and it was extremely busy. We parked so incredibly far away by the time we reached the zoo entrance I was panting and HOT. I really was trying to keep my grumpiness in check. We were all hungry. The cafe was crazy with people so we settled for some Grandy's (healthy eating mistake #1). The restaurant was busy and stuffy. It wasn't a great start to our zoo adventure. Brayden was a little under the weather with a little cough and runny nose. He wants to be with no one but his daddy. This did not work to my advantage when daddy stood in the (forever long) line at Grandy's. I'm not kidding when I say my shoulders were stinging a bit from the unexpected stress. Brayden kept crying for his daddy. Once we finally ate, we all seemed to cool off and calm ourselves. Strolling through the zoo was nice. The crowd started to die down and maybe the temperature cooled or maybe the earlier heat was just the stress!?! The rest of our trip was not stressful but, enjoyable. Brayden still wanted his daddy but, was okay with mommy and big sis too! It was so cute to see Nealy point out animals and Brayden really watch and focus. Again, most of his time was spent in daddy's arms...so Scott did a lot of pointing and talking to him about the animals. It really was fun! I got a few good pictures and then some are not so good. I am so happy we overcame the stressful start and ended up having a great zoo trip! Yay to family time at the zoo! I wouldn't trade it for anything! I mean it.

Our long haul to the zoo.
I swear it was a couple of miles! If not,
for sure one mile!
Scott gave me a 'piggy back' ride
half the way back, I was so pooped!

Our little monkey needed his
snack as soon as we got on the zoo grounds.

Nothing like Big Sis and Little Brother
on a sunny bright day!

Brayden, Brayden what do you see?
I see a ________, looking at me!

More of the animals we saw!
I stole this idea from Cat....thanks girl!...
It's a space saver.

The sweet eyed gorilla, she was
just sweet as can be.
Later she snuggled up against the glass. Awe!

Pink Flamigos...kinda stinky.

gazelles...at least I think that's the name.?.

This little lion cub looks like it's going
to make a leap...see the mommy
above him?
