Milestones, Firsts, and Fun

November was a month of many specials days. We are so excited how our baby boy is growing and developing. Oh yeah, we are also excited he finally slept for 71/2 hours. To quickly update you,...after a family discussion and agreement, we decided against the sleep training. Brayden has had a little cough come and go for the past few weeks. Today he was diagnosed with Croup. Croup is a condition that develops quickly in children and is usually caused by a viral infection in the upper airways that is localized in the throat and surrounding tissues. Very rarely, Croup is a sign of something much more serious...thank goodness. So, he had a breathing treatment today and is doing much better. Having said all this, this is one of the reasons we decided against the training a few weeks ago. However, although we haven't "trained," Brayden is sleeping for 7-71/2 hour stretches this started on Monday November 12th. I am happy and so is daddy. The last few days he has woken up a little more.....................So this leads me to tell you about the BREAKING NEWS: Brayden has two teeth!!! His first tooth cut on Saturday November 24th. Yay Brayden! He now has his two bottom/front teeth. He is such a sweetie that we didn't even know until Aunt LeAnn felt it and told us. Aah! This explains the runny diapers and waking up in the middle of the night. This month Brayden is consistently transferring toys back and forth from one hand to another. He is also making an effort to grasp for things out of his reach. He babbles like no other. He is saying many different consonant sounds. He can sit up with help and alone, leaning forward (balancing on his tummy). He squeals with delight and whimpers when he is sad. He has the sweetest personality. Saturday November 24th was the first time to eat cereal and not make a mess...and I mean at ALL! Yes! Saturday November 11th Brayden rolled over completely. Now this was his first and only time. Since then he has been rolling from his back to his tummy but, hasn't quite repeated the complete roll again. Way to go big boy!

Look at him go! Popo was encouraging him but, I promise Brayden rolled over fair and square himself! Oh, how he is growing...we love him SO much!

Well, another first was his shopping adventure with daddy and me. It was the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, it was a hectic and chaotic day, but it was SUPER fun! There were times I stayed in the car to nurse and Scott would go and shop...then he would come get us and on to the next store we'd go! With all the dodging people, long lines at the registers, finding good parking spots, unloading and reloading the stroller...we managed to have a quiet and relaxing dinner at .......YES! Mommy's favorite place La Madeline...Oops! No. Wait. La Madeline was the day before Thanksgiving. Our relaxing dinner took place at another one of Mommy's favorite places...On the Border. What a fun yet, exhausting day! These firsts of many are so exciting!
