We had so much fun dying Easter eggs! I really think this was the first year Brayden really understood the concept of what it meant. I tried explaining that we have to boil them first, let them cool, and then place them in the colored water with vinegar. I showed him all the supplies we’d use, what they’re for, and even talked about ‘stove safety.’ I said they would look a little something like this:
when we were all through. I explained what Nealy would be doing and what part he could do. He was SO anxious to get started. It was so great to watch his eyes light up. He pulled his little stool over to the counter and followed my every instruction. (I say this with a proud grin). Nealy was such an awesome helper. This is one part of our Easter tradition she hasn’t outgrown…does one ever outgrow dying Easter eggs?
Well, not ashamed to admit, I even used a little bribery (saying we could only get started if he smiled for mommy). I know, I know, what can I say?
Scott purchased this little Cars dying kit SEVERAL weeks ago. It was just Brayden’s style:). However, he chose not to use any of the stickers on his eggs. Who knows?
first bribery snapshot…
second one….:)…good little mommy trick huh?
I LOVE that Nealy is in her lounge-comfy clothes and B in his pajama top and diaper. It’s just typical of how my two hang out on lazy-daisy days.
so we had to wait for the boiling and cooling….(here, I insert Easter cuteness…our little bobble-bodied chick. It’s precious wobbling up and down)…
…and the true fun begins!
That’s it folks! We sure colored our day and the kids had fun…heck, we all had fun! We are all set for the Easter Bunny!
Have WONDERFUL…
