My other Hoop Shooter!

(at last year's competition...before her braces :-)

Yesterday we went to the district hoop shoot contest 2009. This was Nealy's 2nd year in ROW to win at school. She competed last year in the 8-9 year old division and then this year the 10-11 year old division. We are so proud of her. She's never played organized basketball so I am really impressed with her level of skill and accuracy when shooting. Have you ever tried to shoot a basketball? Let me rephrase....Girls? Have you ever tried to shoot a full size basketball from the free throw line? Let me tell you, it ain't easy. Let alone, aim and actually make the basket. Maybe it's just me...I am a little weakling . Regardless, it does take some skill and strength. At one point Nealy was one of the taller girls in her grade. Now, well she's about average and she is petite. She really had to put her whole body into shooting the balls. She was so cute to watch and my heart swelled with pride. Though she did not place at district either year, she did a great job. I live vicariously through her athletic ability because Lord knows I am not and never have been an athlete. It's so much fun to live these experiences through and with her! She is strong and confident and quite the fitness guru. She is very much interested in staying strong and fit. She even does Winsor Pilates with me. Remember, she is my mini-me? Yay Nealy!!! Mom loves you girly!

This wasn't even how high she got up!!!

Such a cutie...way to go Nealy!

Ya know, I really appreciated your comment on my last post. It's funny...b/c people comment often enough on my blog...but that's the one post I actually was really looking for some feed back on! and no one posted! Thank you for offering your thoughts. I had a low week (career) wise, but the day after that post some conversations took place that truly led to my "open doors". I ended the week feeling 1000X better! Way to go on the Hoop Contest! That's awesome! Thanks again!
