Happy Father's Day!

I hope all the father's out there enjoyed their special day and were honored as they should be. Scott's father's day was very productive! He played Zelda on Nealy's Nintendo Wii most of the day. He deserves it! By the way, Scott is such a great step-dad. He purchased the Wii for Nealy's birthday (she doesn't know it yet). She had been asking for one but, I told her it was a big purchase and she could possibly get it for Christmas. Well, leave it up to Scott! Nealy will be SURPRISED and DELIGHTED! Nealy and I gave Scott his gift in the evening after having dinner with his family. All he mentioned he wanted was t-shirts for the summer (so modest). Well, we also gave him some "lovey dovey" things. He appreciated them too. The cutest of all the gifts was a picture Nealy drew for him. It was basketball players on a court with cheerleaders and all. I should have taken a picture. It really is very sweet.

Why Scott is and will continue to be such a great father:

He is patient and kind yet, great at managing children's behavior.
He has a great sense of humor, yet loving and understanding.
He is very attentive and endearing.
He is a kid at heart and has empathy for children.
He is a super role model and leads by example.
He is honest and fair.
He has the silliest dance moves ever AND
He gives the best hugs and kisses!

Last, I had a nice conversation with my dad yesterday. He was out of town working hard so, I didn't get to see him. However, he explained he was excited that Baby Brayden would be here soon. He is a super grandpa! He ABSOLUTELY spoils Nealy and let's her get away with murder! I wonder what changed from when I was Nealy's age? :-) However, he is involved and interested and that is what matters most. Happy Father's Day Dad!

You and Scott are so sweet together! I am so glad you've found each other. You are right, Scott is already an amazing father and will be for Brayden as well! Just over a week to go! I can't wait to meet him!

I'm so xcited for your family! You're both going to be incredible parents to baby Brayden. Here's a poem my mom posted on her family's blog about her dad.

Melissa

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it...Dad
