Somethin' about Nealy

As the end of the school year approaches with just 4 short weeks left, I think of my baby girl. She is no longer a baby obviously. She is entering middle school! I can't believe how the time has passed. She is such a big girl. She'll be eleven years old this summer and a teenager soon. I will have an ELEVEN YEAR OLD daughter. I just can't believe it. In my head sometimes she is still my little princess who bubbles with laughter and is just a BEAUTIFUL doll baby. She is much taller, smarter (too smart for her own good), skinnier (lost the chub-a-blub), more expressive (with A LOT to say), and even MORE beautiful than ever. I'm not going to sugar coat though....I miss the days of NO attitude, NO talking back, and NO sassy ways. BUT, I will take all these for this CRAZY-BEAUTIFUL girl who is my daughter. My preteen challenges are worth it! I don't know how many times I get, "Wow, you MUST claim her...she is the spitting image of you." OR "As soon as I saw her, I knew she was yours." Friends and acquaintances alike tell me they like watching us interact. Nealy and I are known to finish each others sentences and give each other THE look. I know exactly what she is thinking just by simply looking at her (she doesn't even have to make a face)! She knows my thoughts just the same. It's weird. We're so much alike and yet so different. She's brave. I'm not. She was born with the confidence of 100 people. Me? Not so much. She is fearless. I'm....well, a chicken. She is physically unbelievably strong. Me? weakling. She's very carefree. I'm a tiny bit uptight....just about a few things. How is it that we are so in tune with each other and learn from each other every day? God works in mysterious ways. He has blessed me with such a gift. A girl. My girl. My daughter. There is nothing in the world like having a daughter to love, cry with, and yeah, sometimes scream at. I can't even explain the connection and relationship we have. I hold it so dearly in my heart. I'm so darn proud of her it's not even funny. Maybe I have been known to brag. I just can't help it. She is (did I say...SMART)?....okay one more time....SO SMART, SO INTUITIVE and SO ATHLETIC, (just today her p.e. coach told me about her running ability and how she has great stamina and endurance....doesn't take after me). She's amazing. This girl is SO hilariously funny that it's not...HA! She will truly bust a gut! No lie!

I love her! I LOVE her!

Nealy Mckay keeps mom in check. She keeps me right on track with the ins and outs of fashion. She sometimes even says, "Mom seriously? (and b/c I know what she thinks and how she thinks) I say, "uh no! duh? I was just playing a trick on you. I'm really not wearing these shoes with this outfit." Her reply? (b/c she knows me so well) "Yeah right. Mother."

AND as she would say, "these next pictures are HOT." Personally? I think they are down right ADORABLE!
Can a kid get any cuter or what?
There's somethin' about her.....
she WILL leave you smiling, thinking,
or speechless!

What would I ever do without my Mini-Me!?!

Wow! I didn't realize how the time has passed! But one thing is still the same, you are as beautiful as ever! Looking at those pictures I remembered all our good times, crazy times, all our sweet and loving times and yes, all our little fights! And guess what? I wouldn't trade any of them! You have made being an aunt one of the best parts of my life and I love you so much! Love, Aunt Pia!

I love looking @ these pictures. It seems like yesterday when I met her as a 3 yr. old girl. She is growing up too fast. I will miss seeing her in our halls next year.
Love,
